“Purple House Press has done a reprint.of Little Britches in hardcover. This is a facsimile of a 1951 hardcover edition. Interior illustrations by Edward Shenton. Smyth-sewn hardcover with dust jacket and pictorial endpapers by Algot Stenbery. He titled it Our Own Two Hands it conveys his views on family, hard work and how he came to write Little Britches. Our edition includes a two-page letter at the end, which Ralph wrote in 1952 while he was promoting Man of the Family. So do wonderfully told adventures, which equip Ralph for the path his life will take. Through his eyes, the pleasures and perils of ranching in the early twentieth century are experienced… auctions and roundups, family picnics, irrigation wars, tornadoes and wind storms all give authentic color to Little Britches. Ralph was eight years old in 1906 when his family moved from New Hampshire to a Colorado ranch. This book is not the same edition that was sold in our April, 2023, kickstarter. This is a casebound, print-on-demand hardcover.
